微波烧结氧化铝陶瓷的制造方法是多种多样的，除了普通粉未常压烧结法外，还有热压和热等静压烧结法、Sol-Gel法以及CVD法等，在工业上，用得多的还是普通粉未常压烧结法。
氧化铝陶瓷的普通粉未常压烧结法是在传统陶瓷制备工艺上发展起来的，是在干氢或真空条件下进行坯体烧结，这种方法简单易行，经济实用，但保温时间长烧结温度高，且致密程度较低，因而，进一步提高透光率受到了限制。
