氧化铝陶瓷广泛用作研磨材，切削材、高温材料，加之具有良好的耐磨蚀性、机械强度、硬度和耐磨性，还用于各种机械部件。但原用氧化铝陶瓷由于无塑性，不能像金属材料那样进行加工，可以说属一种很难加工的材料。
